Increase the CURB APPEAL of your Orange County, NY home

Landscapers, Landscaping in Warwick, Goshen, Pine Island, Middletown, Chester, Bethel

With TV shows, magazines, and countless products dedicated to the science and art of creating curb appeal, it's hard to imagine that not every homeowner in the Hudson Valley region understands its value. Most experts agree that the return on investment delivered from creating curb appeal—things like landscaping, paver walkways, driveways, and patios, and natural stonework—is among the highest of any home renovation project. And with before and after pictures like the one shown here—the project recently created by the Landworx of NY team in Goshen—it sure is hard not to agree!

A large number of the landscape projects we design, build, and maintain are located in historic towns of Orange County, NY such as Warwick, Florida, Goshen, Monroe, and Pine Island. There are often beautiful front porches that look out at the beautiful natural landscape of the Hudson Valley—evolving images of lazy afternoons spent swinging on the front porch swing, sipping fresh squeezed lemonade.

Front porches are often not the first space that one thinks of when asked about their outdoor living spaces. Back patios, decks, pergolas, and swimming pools are certainly more common. But for the projects that involve the Landworx crew bringing some curb appeal to the front of a customer's home, we say the front porch is an important part of outdoor living style. So gather some outdoor pillows, a lush outdoor rug, and some beautifully planted pots, and let's cozy up on the classic, dreamy, front porch.

Outdoor living spaces are for kids, too!

Summer has a way of reminding us that kids need to be very active! While outdoor spaces are often created with entertaining in mind, it's also important to remember the young ones while planning out your Orange County, NY landscape.

Incorporating play sets into your landscape design is a win-win for young families. If designed correctly, these play areas can create park-like experiences for your kids while you enjoy a relaxing day by the pool. Everyone is happy!

Outdoor fire pits and fireplaces are awesome for summer family fun. Finish up a grilled dinner with freshly roasted marshmallows fireside, right in your Hudson Valley backyard. Tell stories and catch up by the fire pit a few times a month and this crazy busy life we lead seems to slow down just a bit.

Water features such as ponds and waterfalls add another dimension to a kid's enjoyment of your landscape. If your water garden is large enough, bring in some colorful Koi fish for the kids to feed daily while they learn how wildlife and plants come together in a natural setting. It's science class in your backyard!

Meandering Natural Stone Steps

Outdoor steps offer great opportunity for creativity. In contrast to their indoor counterparts, stone landscape steps can meander gracefully up a slope, bobbing and weaving through native plantings of grasses, perennials, and shrubs. The natural landscapes of the Hudson Valley's Orange County lend themselves very well to the use of Pennsylvania bluestone and Colonial Fieldstone when designing and building outdoor living spaces.

Looking for something a bit more traditional? Outdoor steps can also be built using concrete products from manufacturers like Unilock and Techo-Bloc. These staircases tend to be more rectangular and uniform in design and fit in well with more contemporary landscape designs.

Health + Beauty = A Natural Swimming Pool

There’s not much better than taking a refreshing dip in the pool to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. But what if that pool was a natural swimming pool? Chemical free and as beautiful as beautiful as a serene lakeside spot.

Natural swimming pools use plants and gravel to maintain clean water in lieu of harsh chemicals. Essentially a swimmable water garden, creating the perfect ecosystem is key to maintaining an environment that you’ll enjoy.

As for the style of your natural pool, the options are pretty varied. Designers can create anything from a pond look-a-like to rectangular and fairly modern natural pool. And just like standard liner or gunite pools we see often here in the Hudson Valley area, natural pools can be surrounded by beautiful pool decks for lounging and entertaining. a natural stone patio or a Ipe deck would be an amazing fit for the natural oasis feel.

While you may not save maintenance money or time over a traditional pool, your body and skin will thank you for the lack of chemicals. Besides, does it really get any more beautiful than these natural pools pictured here?
